The aim of this document is to provide a communicative syllabus

The aim of this document is to provide a communicative syllabus for the teaching and learning of English at secondary and higher secondary levels in Bangladesh. As such it aims to provide clear and comprehensive guidelines for textbook writers, teachers, students, and all those who are concerned with the teaching and learning of English from classes 9 to 12. In itself, however, a syllabus cannot ensure that communicative language teaching and learning takes place in the classroom. It can only provide a set of criteria which, if properly implemented, would give the best possible chance for that to happen.
